Villa Star of the Sea was never intended to be a large resort. From the beginning, the vision was to create a quiet oceanfront retreat where guests could experience the natural beauty of Mexico's Costalegre in a peaceful and authentic setting.

Over many years, the property was carefully assembled and developed one step at a time on the shores of Playa de Coco, a long stretch of beautiful Pacific coastline located between Barra de Navidad and Manzanillo. Rather than pursuing large-scale development, the focus remained on creating a small boutique environment that values privacy, comfort, personal service, and a genuine connection to the surrounding landscape. The property consists of three buildings thoughtfully arranged to provide our guests with comfort, space, and privacy. We have six accommodations designed for a single person or a couple, and a seventh two-bedroom, two-bathroom accommodation designed for up to four guests. When fully occupied, our one-acre property accommodates just sixteen guests, with two swimming pools and plenty of space and comfort.

We measure luxury not by how much we can fit onto the property, but by how much space we can give each guest. With just seven accommodations spread across approximately one acre, Villa Star of the Sea offers an unusually generous combination of personal space, privacy, resort amenities, and direct access to the Pacific Ocean.

We have also worked hard to keep our rates competitive and our experience personal. For us, exceptional value is not simply about the price of a room—it is about what surrounds it: space to breathe, room to relax, two swimming pools shared by very few guests, tropical gardens, an uncrowded beach, and the relaxed atmosphere that defines our idea of simple barefoot luxury.

Today, Villa Star of the Sea welcomes guests from around the world who are seeking something different from the traditional resort experience. Here, there are no crowded lobbies, no long lines, and no rush. Instead, guests discover spacious accommodations, tropical gardens, oceanfront swimming pools, quiet beaches, and the simple pleasure of waking each morning to the sound of the Pacific Ocean.

Comfort is found not in excess, but in space, tranquility, natural beauty, and the freedom to enjoy life at a slower pace.
